About the Role

In this key support position, you will assist the Head Chef in maintaining the highest standards of culinary excellence, ensuring seamless day-to-day kitchen operations, and supporting the development of new menu items and recipes. You will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining accurate records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory, using data to inform purchasing decisions and optimize kitchen efficiency.
  • Developing and implementing new recipes, taking inspiration from various cuisines including Japanese, to enhance our menu offerings and keep them fresh and exciting.
  • Providing expert guidance and training to junior chefs and kitchen staff, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Serving as a key point of contact for suppliers, negotiating prices, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality ingredients.
Requirements and Qualifications

To succeed in this challenging yet rewarding role, you must possess:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar position, preferably in a fast-paced restaurant or hotel setting.
  • An in-depth knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and presentation methods, particularly in Japanese cuisine.
  • Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and train a diverse team of kitchen staff.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to manage complex menus, inventory, and financial data.
