About the Role
The Department of Chemistry at the University of Toronto is seeking a highly qualified candidate for a full-time tenure stream position in Experimental Physical Chemistry. This appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2025.
Responsibilities and Qualifications
Candidates must have earned a PhD degree in Chemistry (Physical Chemistry or an allied field) by the time of appointment, or shortly thereafter, with a demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching. We are looking for candidates whose research interests complement and enhance our existing faculty's expertise.
Research Expectations
The successful candidate will be expected to pursue innovative and independent research at the highest international level, establishing an outstanding, competitive, and externally well-funded research program. A strong publication record in top-ranked journals and presentations at relevant conferences will be essential.
Teaching Responsibilities
Evidence of teaching excellence will be provided through past teaching accomplishments, a teaching dossier submitted as part of the application, and strong letters of reference outlining teaching experience. The successful candidate will contribute to the department's undergraduate and graduate teaching programs.
Salary and Benefits
The salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. As a member of the University of Toronto faculty, the successful candidate will be entitled to a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, pension plan, and other perks.
