Job Summary

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Anesthesia Assistant to join our team at Vancouver General Hospital. As a key member of our surgical team, you will provide technical support and clinical assistance with anesthesia care, working closely with anesthesiologists and other healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support and clinical assistance with induction, maintenance, and recovery phases of anesthesia.
  • Assist anesthesiologists in developing and implementing anesthesia care plans and monitoring physiological responses of patients.
  • Ensure effective and safe patient care, adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
  • Operate, prepare, and maintain anesthesia equipment, ensuring optimal functionality and safety.
  • Maintain and advance your own clinical competence, staying up-to-date with the latest developments in anesthesia care.
  • Participate in designated hospital committees and approved research projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Graduation from a recognized Anesthesia Assistant Program and current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • Eligibility for membership with the Canadian Anesthesiologists' Society (CAS).
