Job Summary
Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Anesthesia Assistant to join their team at Vancouver General Hospital. As an Anesthesia Assistant, you will provide technical support and clinical assistance with induction, maintenance, and recovery phases of anesthesia under the direct supervision of an Anesthesiologist.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Anesthesiologist in developing and implementing the anesthesia care plan and monitor physiological responses of patients to the induction of anesthesia during surgery.
- Provide technical support and clinical assistance with anesthesia equipment and supplies.
- Ensure effective and safe patient care.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain and advance clinical competence.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive patient care.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Graduation from a recognized Anesthesia Assistant Program.
- Current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Eligibility for membership with the Canadian Anesthesiologists' Society (CAS).
