Foresters Financial is seeking a highly skilled Legal Counsel, Commercial Law to join our team. As a key member of our legal department, you will provide expert legal support and advice to our organization, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide a full range of timely, accurate, and cost-effective legal support, advice, and services to our in-house lawyers, senior management, officers, and employees.
  • Conduct legal research, identify legal issues and risks, formulate and recommend legal strategies and solutions.
  • Manage external and internal legal resources, including needs analysis, resource allocation, and project monitoring.
  • Direct the work of paralegals assisting with various legal files and matters.
  • Develop, promote, and deliver a program for internal client development and education to assist clients in performing their functions and to maximize law department resources.
Requirements:
  • Five to twelve years of legal experience.
  • A subject matter expert in two or more areas of law.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to manage working partnerships with all levels of the organization and within the legal department.
  • Proficient with technology, legal research, and concise memo drafting.
  • Ability to communicate highly complex issues to people outside the legal profession.
