Job Description
The Distribution Center Manager is responsible for overseeing all activities related to distribution at the Dorval site, ensuring seamless receiving, replenishment, shipping, and customer returns processes. With a focus on inventory management, accuracy, and control, this role plays a vital part in supporting Canadian and International markets.
This position requires strategic leadership, analytical skills, and excellent communication abilities. The successful candidate will be able to analyze operational and budget statistics, implement corrective measures, and maintain high-quality standards while adhering to GMP requirements.
A key aspect of this role involves developing and maintaining a team environment that promotes continuous improvement, employee engagement, and motivation. The ideal candidate will have strong situational leadership skills, be able to prioritize tasks effectively, and react appropriately in crisis situations.
In collaboration with other departments, including Customer Service and 3PL partners, this leader will monitor operational objectives, control distribution costs, and ensure the integrity of the Distribution Center's inventory. This role also entails regular communication of operational results, planning financial and human resources, and participating in departmental meetings.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Develop and implement strategies to improve distribution efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels, monitor stock movement, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging employees to suggest new methods and best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals, address operational challenges, and drive business growth.
- Analyze data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks, making informed decisions to optimize distribution operations.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry standards.
- Lead by example, promoting a safe working environment, and actively contributing to health and safety initiatives.
- Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and customers to support business objectives.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should possess:
- Strong leadership and strategic thinking skills.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical abilities.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
- Experience in inventory management, logistics, or a related field.
- Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office.
- Certifications in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field (an asset).
- French and English language proficiency, both written and spoken.
Benefits
This role offers a competitive salary range of $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, a pension plan, and generous paid time off.
