About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Dairy/Frozen Assistant Department Manager to join our team at Longo's. As a key member of our store operations, you will play a vital role in ensuring the success of our dairy and frozen food department.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Motivate and Mentor Team Members: Provide guidance and support to team members to help them achieve their full potential and deliver exceptional customer service.
  2. Support Department Operations: Assist the Dairy/Frozen Manager in preparing the department for daily operations, including merchandising, inventory management, and scheduling.
  3. Coach and Train Team Members: Develop and implement training programs to enhance team members' skills and knowledge, ensuring they are equipped to provide excellent customer service and meet sales targets.
  4. Handle Customer and Team Member Issues: Resolve customer complaints and team member concerns in a fair and timely manner, upholding company policies and procedures.
  5. Merchandise and Manage Inventory: Work with the Dairy/Frozen Manager to create visually appealing displays and manage inventory levels to meet sales objectives.
  6. Provide Exceptional Customer Service: Ensure that all customers receive a positive shopping experience, responding to their needs and concerns in a friendly and professional manner.
Requirements
  1. Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a dairy/frozen department, with a solid understanding of product knowledge.
  2. Customer Service Skills: Strong customer service skills, with the ability to build relationships with team members and customers.
  3. Leadership Skills: Ability to lead, coach, motivate, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  4. Computer Skills: Strong computer skills, with the ability to quickly learn new systems.
  5. Problem-Solving Skills: Ownership to resolve issues with a sense of urgency, using effective communication and listening skills.
  6. Creativity: Strong creativity skills, with the ability to create eye-catching displays.
  7. Teamwork: Ability to role model and inspire behavior consistent with our values, working collaboratively with team members to achieve common goals.
  8. Availability: Must be available to work days, evenings, and weekends, with occasional travel required to support off-site events.
