The Dairy Department Manager is responsible for overseeing the effective operation of the Dairy section, ensuring that customers receive top-quality dairy products and exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver outstanding customer service to uphold the department's reputation for friendliness and efficiency.
- Lead and manage all Dairy staff to ensure smooth and courteous service.
- Address customer inquiries, requests, and complaints promptly, maintaining positive customer relations.
- Drive sales and profitability by meeting sales targets and managing budgets effectively.
- Oversee ordering, receiving, inventory management, and product display.
- Recruit and train part-time staff, ensuring they are well-prepared for their roles.
- Schedule Dairy clerks while maintaining strict control over labor costs.
- Implement and enforce company policies and ensure compliance with relevant agreements.
- Maintain equipment and ensure the safety and sanitation of the department.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Three to five years of experience in the grocery retail sector.
- Prior management experience is a significant advantage.
- Minimum educational requirement: Grade 12 Diploma.
