The Dairy Department Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Dairy section, ensuring that customers receive top-quality dairy products while maintaining exceptional service standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver outstanding customer service to uphold the department's reputation for friendliness and efficiency.
- Lead and manage all Dairy staff to ensure effective and courteous service delivery.
- Address customer inquiries, requests, and complaints promptly to maintain positive customer relations.
- Drive sales performance and profitability by meeting sales targets and managing budgets effectively.
- Oversee the ordering, receiving, inventory management, and presentation of dairy products.
- Recruit, train, and develop part-time staff to enhance team performance.
- Schedule Dairy clerks while managing labor costs efficiently.
- Interpret and enforce company policies while ensuring compliance with labor agreements.
- Maintain equipment and uphold safety and sanitation standards within the department.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
- Strong customer service orientation with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Effective communication abilities.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Three to five years of experience in the grocery retail sector.
- Previous management experience is a significant advantage.
- Minimum educational requirement: Grade 12 Diploma.
