Assistant Professor of Forest Conservation Biology

We are seeking a highly qualified candidate to join our faculty as a tenure-stream Assistant Professor in the field of forest conservation biology. The successful candidate will be part of the Institute of Forestry and Conservation at the University of Toronto.
About the PositionThis appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2025. The successful candidate will be expected to pursue innovative and independent research in forest conservation science, with a high potential for funding through competitive granting agencies.
Responsibilities- Teach at all levels of the undergraduate and graduate programs, including the professionally accredited Masters in Forest Conservation program and research-stream PhD and MScF programs.
- Contribute to the evolving interests of both undergraduate and graduate student populations.
- Participate in related Faculty service and graduate student supervision.
Candidates must have earned a PhD degree in conservation biology, biodiversity science, or a related field by the time of appointment, or shortly thereafter. They must also have a demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching, with a strong potential for funding through competitive granting agencies.
