Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Second Cook to join our culinary team at the Strathcona Hotel. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking special meals for patients, inspecting kitchens and food service areas, and training staff in food preparation and handling.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation: Prepare and cook special meals for patients as instructed by the dietitian or chef.
  • Kitchen Maintenance: Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure cleanliness and organization.
  • Staff Training: Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food.
  • Inventory Management: Order supplies and equipment, maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment.
  • Cleaning and Sanitation: Clean kitchen and work areas to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
