Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic Job Description

D & N Metals Co. Ltd. is seeking a skilled Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our heavy-duty equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions, using computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required.
  • Order parts and maintain inventory to ensure timely repairs and minimize downtime.
  • Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, ensuring all work meets manufacturers' specifications.
  • Keep maintenance reports and documentation up-to-date, providing accurate records of work performed.
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance and ensure all work meets manufacturers' specifications.
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform other maintenance work as required.
  • Service attachments and working tools, ensuring they are in good working condition.
  • Verify and repair emission control systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other routine maintenance tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
  • 5 years or more of experience in heavy-duty equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Other trades certificate or diploma, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, with regular overtime required.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and work at heights.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a client-focused approach.
  • Reliable, accurate, and dependable, with a strong sense of judgement.
Working Conditions:
  • Physically demanding work environment, with regular overtime required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Regular exposure to heavy equipment, tools, and machinery.
Language:

English is the primary language of communication in this role.

Work Schedule:

30 to 60 hours per week, with regular overtime required.
