Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic Job Description

D & N Metals Co. Ltd. is seeking a skilled Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our heavy-duty equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions, using computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required.
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions and order parts to maintain inventory.
  • Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, ensuring that work meets manufacturers' specifications.
  • Keep maintenance reports and documentation up to date.
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance and ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications.
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform other maintenance work as required.
  • Service attachments and working tools, and verify and repair emission control systems.
  • Perform other routine maintenance tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
  • 5 years or more of experience in heavy-duty equipment maintenance.
  • Other trades certificate or diploma, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, with attention to detail and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to handle heavy loads and work in a team environment.
  • Reliability, dependability, and a client-focused approach.
Working Conditions:
  • Physically demanding work environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with overtime required.
  • Weight handling: up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
