Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic Job Description

D & N Metals Co. Ltd. is seeking a skilled Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our heavy-duty equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions, using computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required.
  • Order parts and maintain inventory to ensure timely repairs and minimize downtime.
  • Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, ensuring all work meets manufacturers' specifications.
  • Keep accurate maintenance records and documentation, including test results and repair history.
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance and functionality.
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance tasks to ensure equipment remains in good working condition.
  • Service attachments and working tools, and verify and repair emission control systems.
Requirements:
  • 5 years or more of experience in heavy-duty equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical stamina to handle heavy loads and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions:
  • Physically demanding work environment.
  • Regular overtime required.
  • Up to 23 kg (50 lbs) weight handling.
