Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Nephrology Unit as a Nurse Specialist. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and compassionate nurse to contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care and participate in the development of our unit's goals and objectives.

The successful candidate will have previous general medical/surgical nursing experience, with a strong background in nephrology, urology, peritoneal or hemodialysis, or transplant nursing. A current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario is required, as well as a commitment to ongoing education and professional development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide patient-centered and evidence-informed care to patients with complex needs, high acuity, and less predictable outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the inter-professional team to develop and implement individualized care plans that promote health, prevent illness, and support the overall well-being of patients.
  • Assume a leadership role in delivering a full range of care and treatment to patients, including those requiring renal replacement therapy, dialysis, and other life-sustaining interventions.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures that enhance patient safety and quality of care.
  • Engage in continuing education and professional development to stay current with best practices and advancements in nephrology nursing.
