Job Overview

This position plays a critical role in ensuring secure, stable, and seamless access to the University of Toronto's extensive online collections.

About the Role

The Electronic Resource Access Manager will oversee the configuration, maintenance, support, and transition to SSO access for the library's licensed electronic resources, safeguarding both the library's systems and users' personal data. This involves establishing a coordinated workflow between UTL ITS and the University's Central IT Security Team to ensure compliance with institutional security policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversight of SSO access configuration, maintenance, support, and transition for licensed electronic resources.
  • Establishment of a coordinated workflow between UTL ITS and the University's Central IT Security Team for compliance with institutional security policies.
  • Collaboration with colleagues to identify e-access issues, patterns, and solutions to improve user experience.
Addtional Responsibilities
  • Maintenance and integration of SSO with other library systems and workflows.
  • Ensuring reliable and efficient access to the Library's digital collections and resources.
  • Analysis of problem trends and exceptions, and provision of user-centered problem resolution.
  • Expert communication about e-access for various audiences.
  • Investigation and evaluation of new technologies supporting or enhancing access to electronic resources.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in library, archival, or information science from an accredited institution.
  • Demonstrated commitment to inclusivity, diversity, equity, anti-racism, and accessibility.
  • Understanding of user security, privacy, and identity management for electronic resources.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python or R.
Salary and Benefits

This position is filled at the Librarian I level, subject to review and experience, with a minimum salary of $76,403. The appointment is a 2-year contractually limited term.
