Job Title: Part-Time High School Math/Science Teacher/Tutor

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Part-Time High School Math/Science Teacher/Tutor to join our team at Oxford Learning Oakville North. This role involves working directly with students as an Interactive Coach, providing guidance and support in math and science subjects.

Responsibilities:

  • Teaching up to 3 students at a time at different levels
  • FOLLOWING THE OXFORD LEARNING METHODOLOGIES AND PHILOSOPHIES
  • Filling in post-lesson notes
  • Completing daily student communication updates
  • Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or similar certification in a relevant field
  • Fourth year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
  • Teaching certification an asset
  • Good knowledge of the current Grades 9-12 math and science curriculum, particularly senior math and including, but not limited to, Advanced Functions, algebra, trigonometry and calculus, as well as vectors, physics, chemistry, and biology.

Experience:

  • Some experience teaching/tutoring math and science at a Grade 9 to 12 (or equivalent) level
  • Strong English written and oral communication skills
  • Strong math skills and ability to guide students' understanding
  • Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
