About the Opportunity

As a key member of Nova Scotia Health's Space Planning team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of healthcare facilities. Reporting to the Manager of Space Planning, you will provide strategic input into space planning from various sites within the Eastern and Northern Zones. Your primary responsibility will be generating space reports, studies, and analysis, including space audits. You will work closely with zone-specific clinical and community health service staff, leadership, and the zone space committee to identify and evaluate space needs, conduct space audits, and provide feasibility options for changes to space allocation and use.

About You
  • We are seeking an Architectural Technologist or Graduate in Architecture with significant experience in space planning. A bachelor's degree is required.
  • You should have proficiency in developing architectural schematic planning drawings, high-level architectural details, and outline scopes of work.
  • Demonstrated skills in utilizing AutoCAD for architectural drawings are essential.
  • Proficiency in MSOffice is also required.
  • You should be able to work independently and collaboratively, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as presentation skills, are necessary.
  • Solid client service acumen and interpersonal relationship skills are essential.
  • Knowledge of applicable national (Canada) and provincial (NS) buildings codes and regulations is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in space planning, including balancing multiple stakeholder needs and competing priorities, is necessary.
Compensation and Benefits

The successful candidate can expect a competitive salary of $63,414 - $77,851 per year, based on a 75-hour bi-weekly schedule. Additionally, benefits include health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
