About the Opportunity

Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a highly skilled Space Planner to join our team. As a key member of our facilities planning team, you will play a critical role in providing strategic space planning input to support the delivery of high-quality patient care and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide input into strategic space planning for the Eastern and Northern Zones of Nova Scotia Health Authority
  • Generate space reports, studies, and analysis, including space audits and utilization studies
  • Work with zone-specific clinical and community health service staff and leadership to identify and evaluate space needs
  • Develop feasibility options for consideration and prioritization of changes to space allocation and use
  • Provide guidance on provincial space guidelines and policies to individuals, service groups, and space committees
About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Space Planner with a strong background in architectural technology or a related field. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Significant experience in space planning, with a focus on strategic planning and facilities management
  • Proficiency in developing architectural schematic planning drawings, high-level architectural details, and outline scopes of work
  • Experience with AutoCAD and other relevant software
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple demands
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information to stakeholders
Requirements
  • 5 years of relevant experience in space planning, including balancing multiple stakeholder needs and competing priorities
  • Experience in space planning within a healthcare context is an asset
  • Knowledge of applicable national and provincial buildings codes and regulations
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Strong client service acumen and interpersonal relationship skills
