Are you a seasoned financial operations expert seeking a challenging role that leverages your skills and experience? We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accounts Receivable Manager to join our team in the Greater Toronto Area, Canada.
About the OpportunityThis leadership position is responsible for overseeing the Order to Cash (O2C) operations, ensuring timely, accurate, and efficient execution of collections, accounts receivable, and billing processes. You will lead a team of 4 AR professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment through coaching, feedback, and career development.
The successful candidate will build strong relationships with merchants, clients, and internal teams to facilitate effective collections and resolve escalations, including billing discrepancies and intercompany transactions. You will own the collections strategy, ensuring adherence to processes and identifying opportunities for improvement to achieve cash flow targets.
Your responsibilities will include driving process improvements by leveraging ERP functionality (NetSuite preferred) to streamline workflows, automate operations, and enhance scalability. You will collaborate with Sales, IT, Finance, and FP&A teams to address larger account collections, resolve payment issues, and support reporting processes, including month-end AR packages and P&L impact.
You will prepare and maintain accurate reports, including aging reports, DSO metrics, and KPIs, to monitor and optimize collections performance. Ensuring compliance and accuracy in departmental functions such as customer master maintenance, credit administration, cash application, vendor setups, and subscription-based billing will also be part of your duties.
This role requires managing complex, time-sensitive projects such as transitioning non-sub-ledger customers to the sub-ledger and supporting cross-functional initiatives like e-invoicing and automation. You will balance a dynamic workload that includes collections, resolving merchant issues, month-end requests, and team leadership while maintaining a resourceful and proactive approach.
About YouTo be successful in this role, you must have excellent understanding of how the order-to-cash process fits into the overall business and finance process. Prior experience must include exposure to inefficient processes (both manual and system) and direct actions taken to address them.
A minimum of 8+ years of experience as an Accounts Receivable Manager or Supervisor position and 8+ years directly managing staff are required. You must also have 4+ years of demonstrated process improvement and operational focus.
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, or related discipline, or professional accounting qualifications (CPA, ACCA) are essential. Previous Experience in SaaS and/or recurring revenue Industry and experience with Netsuite would be a strong asset.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, are necessary to succeed in this role. The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities is also crucial.
