Shipping Manager - Montreal

Position Overview

The Shipping Manager will be responsible for planning, organizing, and controlling activities related to the shipping department at our Montreal plant. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills to supervise a team and ensure seamless operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise the shipping and warehousing team to ensure efficient handling of finished goods.
  • Plan and coordinate the arrival and departure of trailers/containers to meet production schedules.
  • Verify inventory levels and conduct quality control checks on finished goods.
  • Collaborate with the Logistics team to maintain accurate SAP records and optimize virtual inventory movement.
  • Analyze and implement process improvements to enhance shipping efficiency.
  • Coordinate with partners to optimize production plans and ensure timely delivery of critical goods.
  • Support production operations related to packaging image changes, government legislation, and new product introductions.
  • Maintain communication channels between the plant and various departments.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • College degree in management or operations.
  • 5 years of experience in production planning and supervision.
  • Experience in a unionized manufacturing sector is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of SAP is an asset.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Team spirit, initiative, and ability to mobilize others.
  • Excellent command of French and English, both written and spoken.
  • Comfortable working on the shop floor.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
