Job Title: Epidemiologist, Immunization Programs

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Epidemiologist to join our team at the BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC). As an Epidemiologist, you will play a critical role in analyzing and interpreting data to inform public health decisions and policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement surveillance initiatives to monitor and track communicable diseases and environmental hazards.
  • Analyze and interpret data to identify trends and patterns, and develop recommendations for public health interventions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including regional health authorities, other provincial and national partners, and health professionals, to disseminate critical information and ensure timely and effective communication of reports.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including regional health authorities, other provincial and national partners, and health professionals.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and guidelines related to public health and communicable disease control.

Requirements:

  • Masters degree in Epidemiology or Public Health, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in the field of public health, preferably in epidemiology or communicable disease control.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to interpret complex data and develop recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
