About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Director to lead our Credit Authorization Team at FinDev Canada. This pivotal role requires strategic leadership, excellent risk management skills, and expertise in credit structuring.

Job Description

The successful candidate will oversee the development and execution of credit authorization strategies, ensuring financial sustainability while maximizing our development impact. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leveraging expertise in risk management to guide the Credit Authorization Team in evaluating and authorizing complex transactions.
  • Developing and refining underwriting guidelines to ensure robust and forward-thinking credit practices.
  • Building and leading a diverse team, fostering a culture of technical excellence and precision.
Requirements

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:

  • A Master of Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent degree.
  • A minimum 15 years of experience in commercial credit transactions across various industries and geographies.
  • Proven leadership skills, with a minimum of 5 years' experience in formal or informal people leadership or coaching and mentoring individuals.
  • Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills, along with excellent negotiation and risk mitigation abilities.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including drafting expertise.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills, with a solid understanding of language requirements (fluency in English is required, with French and Spanish being desirable).
  • Experience reading and interpreting financial statements, with strong risk analysis skills.
