Job Summary

The Senior Advisor, Credit Risk Oversight, plays a pivotal role in developing and implementing the credit risk management framework at IA Financial Group. This role involves overseeing credit underwriting and adjudication processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and update Credit Risk Policies and Guidelines to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Oversee the credit underwriting and adjudication processes, monitoring and reporting on IA's credit risk exposures.
  • Ensure accurate interpretation and adherence to Credit Risk Policy and Guidelines.
  • Assess credit applications and provide recommendations to senior management.
  • Develop and monitor lending activities using out-of-order/impaired/watch list credits and escalate as needed.
  • Minimize credit loss experience through sound lending practices and implementation of policies and guidelines.
  • Prepare quarterly financial risk reports for senior management and the Board of Directors.
  • Develop and maintain organizational financial risk indicators and limits to monitor and support business decisions.
  • Enhance credit risk quantification through research, modelling, and analysis of risk models such as PD, LGD, EAD.
  • Support entities on financial risk-related matters and action plans.
  • Contribute to the Internal Capital Model process, the Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA) process, and the Stress Testing Program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA, FRM) is preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of recent experience in credit risk, with experience in market risk and liquidity risk a plus.
  • Experience with credit adjudication on loan portfolios.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior management and exercise sound judgment.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Sound writing skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise, and well-structured reports and documentation.
  • Sound knowledge of IFRS 9 and its application, a plus.
