About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Dishwasher to join our team at Verve Senior Living. As a key member of our culinary team, you will play a critical role in maintaining the health, safety, and well-being of our residents by ensuring our infection and sanitation control measures are upheld in the back of house.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and sanitize dishes, pots, glassware, and cutlery in accordance with established procedures.
- Monitor and record the temperature of the dish machine at least twice daily.
- Report any deficiencies to the Dining Services Manager or designate.
- Ensure correct usage of chemicals in the dish machine and pot washing areas.
- Clean the dish machine and pot washing area thoroughly.
- Assume cleaning tasks as per site cleaning schedules.
- Receive, uncrate, and put away supplier deliveries as required.
- Vacuum the dining room after meal service.
- Bus dishes in the dining room between seatings.
- Break down cardboard boxes and prepare them for recycling or disposal.
- Ensure cups, teapots, and soup bowls are pre-soaked in proper chemicals to remove stains.
- Clean the kitchen, including mopping the floor.
- Adhere to established department policies, procedures, and objectives regarding quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control.
- Comply with infection control processes and protocols as directed.
- Maintain effective communication with co-workers, residents, and guests.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Dining Services Manager or delegate.
Requirements:
- Minimum of grade 12 education required.
- Minimum 1 year's experience in a dishwashing position is preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively in the English language.
- Dependable, responsible, and ability to work well with others in a team environment and independently.
- Demonstrates a positive attitude necessary to meet the goals and standards of the residence.
- Capable of working in a fast-paced environment under hot and humid conditions.
