Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Dishwasher (On-Call) to join our Culinary and Pastry Arts team at Okanagan College. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitization standards for glassware, tableware, and cooking utensils using machine and manual cleaning methods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure all dishes and kitchen supplies are cleaned to food safety standards.
  • Sort, rinse, and wash dirty dishes, glassware, tableware, pots, pans, trays, and other cooking utensils using machine and manual cleaning methods as required.
  • Perform general dish room duties, including restocking clean utensils and tableware, maintaining the cleanliness of the dishwashing area, and washing and folding kitchen laundry.
  • Buss dishes from program kitchens and ensure classrooms are set with clean cooking utensils and other supplies as required.
  • Ensure compliance with all provincial workplace safety standards.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent and Food Safe Certificate.
  • Up to and including 6 months related experience an asset.
  • Experience working in a commercial kitchen an asset.
