Dishwasher Position

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Dishwasher. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will play a critical role in maintaining the health, safety, and well-being of our residents by ensuring our infection and sanitation control measures are upheld.

Responsibilities:

  • Clean and sanitize dishes, pots, glassware, and cutlery in accordance with established procedures
  • Monitor and record the temperature of the dish machine at least twice daily
  • Report any deficiencies to the Dining Services Manager or designate
  • Ensure correct usage of chemicals in the dish machine and pot washing areas
  • Clean the dish machine and pot washing area thoroughly
  • Assume cleaning tasks as per site cleaning schedules
  • Receive, uncrate, and put away supplier deliveries as required
  • Vacuum the dining room after meal service
  • Bus dishes in the dining room between seatings
  • Break down cardboard boxes and prepare them for recycling or disposal
  • Ensure cups, teapots, and soup bowls are pre-soaked in proper chemicals to remove stains
  • Clean the kitchen, including mopping the floor
  • Adhere to established department policies, procedures, and objectives regarding quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control
  • Comply with infection control processes and protocols as directed
  • Maintain effective communication with co-workers, residents, and guests
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Dining Services Manager or delegate

Requirements:

  • Minimum of grade 12 education required
  • Minimum 1 year's experience in a dishwashing position is preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language
  • Dependable, responsible, and ability to work well with others in a team environment and independently
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude necessary to meet the goals and standards of the residence
