Dishwasher Position at Verve Senior Living

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Dishwasher to join our team at Verve Senior Living. As a Dishwasher, you will play a critical role in maintaining the health, safety, and well-being of our residents by ensuring our infection and sanitation control measures are upheld in the back of house.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean dishes, pots, glassware, and cutlery following established sanitation procedures.
  • Monitor and record the temperature of the dish machine at least twice daily.
  • Report all deficiencies to the Dining Services Manager or designate.
  • Ensure correct usage of chemicals in the dish machine and pot washing areas.
  • Clean the dish machine and pot washing area thoroughly.
  • Assume cleaning tasks as per site cleaning schedules.
  • Receive, uncrate, and put away supplier deliveries as required.
  • Vacuum the dining room after meal service.
  • Bus dishes in the dining room between seatings.
  • Break down cardboard boxes and prepare them for recycling or disposal.
  • Ensure cups, teapots, and soup bowls are pre-soaked once a week in proper chemicals to remove stains.
  • Clean the kitchen, including mopping the floor.
  • Adhere to established department policies, procedures, and objectives regarding quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control.
  • Comply with infection control processes and protocols as directed.
  • Maintain effective communication with co-workers, residents, and guests.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Dining Services Manager or delegate.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of grade 12 education required.
  • Minimum 1 year's experience in a dishwashing position is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, in the English language.
  • Dependable, responsible, and ability to work well with others in a team environment and independently.
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude necessary to meet the goals and standards of the residence.
