Job Description

Job Title: Senior Business Planning Consultant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Business Planning Consultant to join our team at Environmental Resources Management (ERM). As a Senior Business Planning Consultant, you will play a key role in providing strategic direction and leadership to our clients in the areas of risk management and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality consulting services to existing clients and contribute to business development activities in Canada's North.
  • Lead and/or support a wide variety of mining and energy projects related to sustainable development, natural resource management, and risk management.
  • Conduct consultation and information collection activities, including leading interviews and surveys, and supporting and facilitating meetings and workshops.
  • Support clean energy, climate change adaptation, and risk management projects in the North.
  • Provide technical expertise for closure and reclamation planning at all stages of mine life.
  • Provide oversight and quality control for data collection, management, reduction, and analysis.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams of ERM national and global practitioners to execute projects and deepen relationships with ERM key clients.
  • Develop a network of professional contacts and contribute to proposals.
  • Mentor junior-level and mid-level consulting staff to develop their skill sets.
  • Assume responsibility for project management, including managing work plan execution, task delegation, and direction.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, geology, science, or related discipline.
  • Expertise in mine closure planning, risk assessment, and risk management.
  • Strong project management skills and experience working as part of an integrated team.
  • Ability to situate technical issues within a broader socio-economic, policy, or business context.
  • Well-developed writing skills and ability to undertake technical writing.
  • Additional language skills (e.g., French and Spanish) are an asset.
