Physician Opportunity in North Preston Community Health and Wellness Centre

This part-time physician opportunity is available at the North Preston Community Health and Wellness Centre, a multi-disciplinary group serving a sub-rural, marginalized community with a predominantly African Nova Scotian population. The centre has a strong focus on health promotion, disease prevention, and patient advocacy.
Responsibilities- Examine patients, take medical histories, order diagnostic tests, and prescribe medications as needed
- Consult with other medical practitioners and refer patients as necessary
- Act as a patient advocate and provide health education and promotion
- Report births, deaths, and contagious diseases to public health authorities
This is a part-time position, requiring approximately 1 day per week of commitment.
QualificationsEligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS) and certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC). Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) is also required.
