Job Title: Scrap Metal Shredder

We are seeking a skilled Scrap Metal Shredder to join our team at GLOBAL METAL SOURCES CO., LTD. in a permanent position.

Job Summary:

The Scrap Metal Shredder will be responsible for setting up, preparing, and adjusting processing machinery, making adjustments to machinery, transporting raw materials, finished products, and scrap materials through the plant, sorting, stacking, bundling, and stamping materials, providing job training and support, assisting process and machine operators in mineral ore and metal processing, feeding conveyors, crushers, and other equipment, cleaning machines and immediate work areas, loading and unloading vehicles using a forklift or dolly.

Responsibilities:
  • Set up, prepare, and adjust processing machinery
  • Make adjustments to machinery
  • Transport raw materials, finished products, and scrap materials through the plant
  • Sort, stack, bundle, and stamp materials
  • Provide job training and support
  • Assist process and machine operators in mineral ore and metal processing
  • Feed conveyors, crushers, and other equipment
  • Clean machines and immediate work areas
  • Load and unload vehicles using a forklift or dolly
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
  • 1 to less than 7 months of experience
  • Valid driver's licence
  • Own transportation
  • Own vehicle
  • Steel-toed safety boots
  • Safety glasses/goggles
  • Gloves
  • Ear plugs
Work Environment:

The Scrap Metal Shredder will work in a fast-paced environment with a combination of sitting, standing, walking, and standing for extended periods. The work site environment is noisy, with odours, dust, heat, and cold/refrigerated conditions. The work setting is outdoors, and relocation costs are not covered by the employer.

Security and Safety:

The Scrap Metal Shredder will be required to undergo a criminal record check and provide a valid driver's licence.

Personal Suitability:

The ideal candidate will have efficient interpersonal skills and be a team player.
