Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operating Room Nurse to join our team at Sinai Health. As a key member of our perioperative care team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and support to our surgical teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to patients in the operating room, including pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care and efficient surgical procedures.
- Facilitate the clinical needs of surgeons and anesthesia staff in the operating room.
- Effectively manage workload and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Anticipate and address rapidly changing situations, ensuring patient safety and well-being.
- Document patient observations, assessments, and care provision accurately and thoroughly.
- Maintain clinical competence and knowledge base through ongoing education and professional development.
Requirements
- Current certificate of registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
- Graduate of a CNO-approved bachelor's degree in nursing program, or equivalent combined education and experience.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
- Successful completion of a post-graduate Perioperative Nursing Certificate program or commitment to complete certificate within 3 years from hire date.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3 years' experience in a perioperative setting.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN).
