Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operating Room Nurse to join our team at Sinai Health. As a key member of our perioperative care team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and support to our surgical teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to patients in the operating room, including pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care and efficient surgical procedures.
  • Facilitate the clinical needs of surgeons and anesthesia staff in the operating room.
  • Effectively manage workload and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Anticipate and address rapidly changing situations, ensuring patient safety and well-being.
  • Document patient observations, assessments, and care provision accurately and thoroughly.
  • Maintain clinical competence and knowledge base through ongoing education and professional development.

Requirements

  • Current certificate of registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
  • Graduate of a CNO-approved bachelor's degree in nursing program, or equivalent combined education and experience.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • Successful completion of a post-graduate Perioperative Nursing Certificate program or commitment to complete certificate within 3 years from hire date.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 years' experience in a perioperative setting.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN).
