Perioperative Services Attendant

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Perioperative Services Attendant to join our team at the University Health Network. As a key member of our Perioperative Services team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms and providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Perform direct and indirect patient care functions, including service functions, patient assistance, transport, and environmental support and maintenance services.
- Stock supplies, perform equipment setup and maintenance, and ensure a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care and support the surgical team.
- Perform cross-functional duties and other assigned tasks as required.
- Completion of Grade XI or recognized equivalent.
- One (1) year experience in a related patient care capacity.
- Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language.
- Knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and other relevant legislation.
- Knowledge of the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (W.H.M.I.S.).
- Knowledge of applicable Hospital and departmental policies, procedures, guidelines, protocols, and practices.
- Standard First Aid/Basic Rescuer Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (C.P.R.) certification an asset.
- Ability to work collaboratively as an active participant with others in assisting with the delivery of care to surgical patients.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to perform responsibilities in a courteous manner.
- Must be flexible to work all shifts.
- Physically capable of performing the daily activities associated with patient care.
