Perioperative Room Attendant

Join the University Health Network (UHN) team as a Perioperative Room Attendant, where you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of patient care in the Operating Room environment.

About the Role

This is a permanent part-time position, working 15 hours per week, with a flexible schedule that includes Friday and Saturday shifts. As a Perioperative Room Attendant, you will be responsible for performing direct and indirect patient care functions, including:

  • Stocking supplies and maintaining a clean and organized environment
  • Providing direct patient assistance and support
  • Transporting patients and equipment
  • Maintaining environmental support and maintenance services
  • Performing cross-functional duties and other assigned tasks
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Completion of Grade XI or recognized equivalent
  • One year of experience in a related patient care capacity
  • Ability to speak, read, write and comprehend the English language
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Act and other relevant legislation
  • Knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (W.H.M.I.S.)
  • Knowledge of applicable Hospital and departmental policies, procedures, guidelines, protocols and practices
  • Standard First Aid/ Basic Rescuer Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (C.P.R.) certification an asset
  • Ability to work collaboratively as an active participant with others in assisting with the delivery of care to surgical patients
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to perform responsibilities in a courteous manner
  • Flexibility to work all shifts
  • Physical capability to perform daily activities associated with patient care
