The Job
This position is based in a world-class Horizon North camp facility with a regular shift of 20 days on and 10 days off, with 10 hour workdays. Transportation is provided from a pickup point in Edmonton.
The Second Cook assists in overall kitchen operations and maintenance, cleaning and sanitizing designated areas, tools, equipment, pots, and dishes.
This role is safety-sensitive and requires drug & alcohol testing as a condition of employment.
Your Responsibilities
- Ensure consistent quality standards in food preparation as per client's requirements and safety protocols.
- Prepare food items for Sandwich Making, including cutting breads, wrapping sandwiches, slicing cold meats and cheese by hand or machine.
- Inspect appearance of all cold food for proper color combination and presentation.
- Check and control proper storage of all food items in refrigerators and freezers to maintain product freshness.
- Prepare and set up a full salad bar for lunch and supper.
- Ensure effective utilization of food stocks.
