We are seeking a highly skilled Food Service Supervisor to join our team at St. Thomas University. As a key member of our Dining Services team, you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring the quality and safety of food, and maintaining a clean and organized environment.

  • Produce and maintain work schedules and prepare production packets.
  • Direct daily activities and maintain food production that ensures the safety and quality of food.
  • Ensure food items are stored in a safe, organized, and hazard-free environment.
  • Maintain all serving schedules and ensure food items are served per menu specifications.
  • Maintain a sanitary department and accurate inventory on a weekly basis.
  • Supervise and evaluate employees, counsel, and promote employee growth, efficiency, morale, and teamwork.
  • Ensure all food safety/temperature logs are completed with appropriate corrective action.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the Food Service Director or Manager.
  • Maintain knowledge of daily catering events and confirm they are prepared and delivered on time.
  • Be able to work occasional night and weekend catered events.
  • May perform cashier duties as the need arises.

  • 1-2 years experience in food service industry required.
  • 1 year experience in a leadership role required.
  • Excellent customer service skills, able to create relationships with guests and recover a dissatisfied guest.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Skilled people manager, able to inspire team to follow your direction.
  • Able to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Flexible, as some evening and weekend work may be required.
