At Kent Building Supplies, we are seeking a skilled Design and Technical Planning Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for collaborating with architects and engineers to convert designs into technical plans.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have experience using computer-aided design (CAD) software to create detailed drawings and layouts, calculate dimensions and material requirements, and describe production methods.

  • Develop and prepare preliminary engineered drawings from concepts, sketches, and specification sheets
  • Create models using engineering software (CAD)
  • Meet with customers and accommodate requests made to designs
  • Produce a specification sheet for the model created
  • Verify drawings meet required specifications
  • Estimate material lists and costs for a set of plans
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Independent, creative thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to use various software, including Microsoft and CAD
  • Able to plan and prioritize work in an organized manner while working in a fast-paced environment
  • Team player with excellent communication and collaboration skills
