Key Responsibilities- Food and Supply Management
- Requisition food and kitchen supplies in a timely and cost-effective manner
- Ensure that all food and supplies are stored and handled in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Staff Supervision and Training
- Supervise and co-ordinate the activities of kitchen staff, including chefs, cooks, and food preparation assistants
- Train staff in job duties, sanitation procedures, and safety protocols
- Quality Control and Customer Service
- Ensure that all food and service meet our high quality control standards
- Address customer complaints or concerns in a professional and courteous manner
- Administrative Tasks
- Maintain accurate records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage
- Establish and manage work schedules to ensure efficient operation of the kitchen and front-of-house areas
- Support for Newcomers and Refugees
- Support the social and labour market integration of newcomers and/or refugees, including facilitating access to community resources, language training, and skills training
- Support for Youths
- Provide awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth
- Support for Indigenous People
- Provide cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers
- Support for Visible Minorities
- Offer mentorship programs that pair members of visible minorities with experienced employees
- Education
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- Experience
- 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a food service or hospitality role
- Language
- Fluent in English
