About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Administrative Assistant to join our team at Northern Health Authority. As an Administrative Assistant, you will provide confidential administrative assistance and secretarial support to our Director/Executive Lead and programs/services throughout the Health Service Delivery Area (HSDA)/Region or Corporate Department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to the Director/Executive Lead and programs/services, including preparing and disseminating information of a confidential and/or sensitive nature.
  • Liaise with managers/directors, staff, and the public to gather and disseminate information in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Communicate effectively in writing and verbally to ensure clear and understandable communication.
  • Apply excellent time management skills to prioritize and complete assignments in a manner that optimizes departmental effectiveness and contributes to organizational success.
  • Maintain, monitor, calculate, and summarize data, records, and budget information with care and thoroughness.
  • Collaborate with peers to ensure administrative systems and processes are consistently followed and monitored for effectiveness.
  • Employ expertise in the use of desktop computer applications to create a variety of documents and presentations.
Requirements
  • Graduation from a recognized administrative assistant/secretarial post-secondary program plus three years of senior administrative support experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Advanced word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, desktop publishing, and database software skills.
  • The ability to type a minimum of 60 wpm.
