Propulsion System Battery Management System Specialist

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Propulsion System Battery Management System Specialist to join our team at Abacus Service Corporation. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for supporting the design and release of the Propulsion System Client EoL Engineer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Calibration Development: Develop and verify client calibrations to ensure seamless implementation of the Battery Management System in the battery pack assembly and in-vehicle.
- Battery EOL Testing and Troubleshooting: Perform battery EOL testing, analyze data with Vector CAN tools, INCA, or plant tester diagnostic tools, and troubleshoot issues for resolution.
- Problem-Solving and Data Analysis: Support problem-solving activities by analyzing EOL data, identifying root causes, and documenting controls and software issues blocking calibration progress.
- Change Control and Clean Points: Aid in the authoring of EOL tester change requests, establish and document new requirements, best practices, and lessons learned, and support change control and establishment of clean points.
- Vehicle Triage and Systems Level Troubleshooting: Support vehicle triage and systems level troubleshooting of the battery pack on the vehicle assembly line and flexibility to support field issues as well.
- Calibration Release DVP Activities: Demonstrate proficiency in data collection, post-processing, and analysis during calibration release DVP activities.
- Functional Model Analysis: Analyze functional models to root cause and document controls and software issues blocking calibration progress.
- Virtual and In-Vehicle Testing: Perform virtual and in-vehicle testing to achieve calibration maturity at each of the vehicle milestones of the program.
- Center of Competency Review: Work closely with the center of competency to review both issues with functional area, integration, and follow guidance for calibration best practice and methodology.
- Vehicle Fleet/Logistics Activities: Support vehicle fleet/logistics activities.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering with manufacturing experience or equivalent education in manufacturing principles.
- Business Acumen and Analytical Skills: Combination of business focus, analytical and problem-solving skills in order to quickly define solutions within a specific application.
- Data Acquisition and Diagnostic Tools: Must have experience with data acquisition and have the ability to use development diagnostic tools and data acquisition tools: INCA, Vector tools: CANalyzer.
- Communication and Teamwork: Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to work within a team and with a proactive attitude.
- Application Engineering Principles: Proficiency with application engineering principles.
- Process-Oriented and Attention to Detail: Process-oriented, and high attention to detail.
- Industry Experience: + years of Industry experience.
- Language: English: Advanced.
Preferred Requirements:
- Electrical Engineering Degree: Electrical Engineering degree.
- High Voltage Battery or High Voltage Powertrain Experience: High Voltage Battery or High Voltage powertrain experience.
- Electronic System Level Troubleshooting: Experience with Electronic System level troubleshooting and embedded controls/complex function root cause analysis.
- Diagnostics Fundamentals: Understanding of diagnostics fundamentals.
- Electrical Root Cause Tools: Extensive knowledge and hands-on use of INCA, CDA, CAN, CANalyzer, Canoe, and other Electrical root cause tools (such as oscilloscopes, etc.).
Additional Requirements:
- Onsite Work: Onsite – ARDC Driving a Stellantis vehicle is required.
- Travel: Occasional travel to the US for meetings/training – up to two times per month.
