About the Role
This is a unique opportunity to join Zobility as a Propulsion System Battery Management System Specialist. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting the design and release of battery management systems in manufacturing and assembly plants.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and verify battery management system calibrations to ensure seamless implementation in battery pack assembly and in-vehicle.
- Perform battery end-of-life testing and troubleshoot issues to resolve problems efficiently.
- Support problem-solving activities by analyzing end-of-life data with Vector CAN tools, INCA, or plant tester diagnostic tools, or by visual inspection.
- Aid in the authoring of end-of-life tester change requests and collaborate with the team to establish clean points.
- Establish and document new requirements, best practices, and lessons learned as appropriate, with guidance from battery management system engineering.
- Support vehicle triage and systems-level troubleshooting of the battery pack on the vehicle assembly line and flexibility to support field issues as needed.
- Demonstrate proficiency in data collection, post-processing, and analysis during calibration release DVP activities.
- Analyze functional models to root cause and document controls and software issues blocking calibration progress. Perform virtual and in-vehicle testing to achieve calibration maturity at each of the vehicle milestones of the program.
- Work closely with the center of competency to review both issues with functional area, integration, and follow guidance for calibration best practice and methodology.
- Support vehicle fleet and logistics activities.
Requirements
- Combination of business acumen, analytical, and problem-solving skills to quickly define solutions within a specific application.
- Must have experience with data acquisition and the ability to use development diagnostic tools and data acquisition tools: INCA, Vector tools: CANalyzer.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work within a team and with a proactive attitude.
- Proficiency with application engineering principles.
- Process-oriented and high attention to detail.
- 5+ years of industry experience.
- English: Advanced
Preferred Requirements
- Electrical Engineering degree.
- High Voltage Battery or High Voltage powertrain experience. Experience with Electronic System level troubleshooting and embedded controls/complex function root cause analysis.
- Understanding of diagnostics fundamentals.
- Extensive knowledge and hands-on use of INCA, CDA, CAN, CANalyzer, Canoe, and other Electrical root cause tools (such as oscilloscopes, etc.).
Education
- Bachelor's degree in engineering with manufacturing experience or equivalent education in manufacturing principles.
Additional Must Haves
- Onsite ARDC.
- Driving a Client vehicle is required.
- Occasional travel to the US for meetings/training 1 to 2 times per month.
