Propulsion System Battery Management System Specialist

About the Role:
The Propulsion System Battery Management System (BMS) Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting the design and release teams in manufacturing and assembly plants. This individual will work closely with the lead BMS and Pack Integration DRE, software engineers, technical specialists, other engineers, and plant personnel to ensure the successful implementation of the Battery Management System in the battery pack assembly and in the vehicle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform Battery End-of-Life (EOL) testing and assist in troubleshooting and reporting issues for resolution.
- Support problem-solving activities by analyzing EOL data with Vector CAN tools, INCA, or plant tester diagnostic tools, or by visual inspection.
- Aid in change control and establishment of clean points (may require part relabeling/off-line re-flashing as needed).
- Establish and document new requirements, best practices, and lessons learned as appropriate, with guidance from BMS engineering.
- Support vehicle triage and systems-level troubleshooting of the battery pack on the vehicle assembly line and flexibility to support field issues as well.
- Demonstrate proficiency in data collection, post-processing, and analysis during calibration release DVP activities.
- Analyze functional models to root cause and document controls and SW issues blocking calibration progress. Perform virtual and in-vehicle testing to achieve calibration maturity at each of the vehicle milestones of the program.
- Support vehicle fleet/logistics activities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering with manufacturing experience or equivalent education in manufacturing principles.
- Extensive knowledge and hands-on use of INCA, CDA, CAN, CANalyzer, Canoe, and other Electrical root cause tools (such as oscilloscopes, etc.).
Preferred Requirements:
- Electrical Engineering degree.
- Occasional travel to the US for meetings/training 1 to 2 times per month.
