Key Responsibilities:- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for multi-family residential projects, including concrete and wood-frame constructions.
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to understand project scope and requirements.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to gather essential project information.
- Conduct quantity take-offs and develop comprehensive estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and other project costs.
- Evaluate and negotiate subcontractor and supplier bids and proposals.
- Develop and maintain cost databases, unit prices, and historical cost data.
- Prepare and present cost estimate reports to senior management and project stakeholders.
- Monitor project budgets and provide cost-control support throughout the project lifecycle.
- Mentor and guide junior estimators and support staff.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in construction estimating, with a focus on multi-family residential projects.
- Extensive experience with concrete and wood-frame construction methods.
- Proven track record of successful project estimation in the local Vancouver market.
- Proficiency in estimating software.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and project documents.
- Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Experience with sustainable building practices and LEED certification processes.
