Job Summary:
The YMCA of Greater Vancouver is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Team Leader to join our Kids Clubs team. As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for planning and leading indoor and outdoor activities for children aged 5-12, while providing leadership to a team of staff and volunteers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and lead engaging and safe activities for children, promoting their physical, emotional, and social development.
- Supervise and provide guidance to a team of staff and volunteers, ensuring they have the necessary skills and support to deliver high-quality programs.
- Develop and implement child-centered programming, taking into account the needs and interests of the children.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with families, staff, and community stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Manage administrative tasks, including payroll, budget tracking, and other related duties.
- Ensure the health and safety of children in your care, maintaining a clean and safe environment at all times.
Requirements:
- Must be 19 years of age.
- Experience working or volunteering with children, preferably in a leadership role.
- Minimum 1 year experience leading a team.
- Emergency First Aid & CPR certification, or willingness to obtain within 90 days.
- Training in child development is an asset, but not required.
- Successful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Reference Check/Vulnerable Sector Search.
