Senior Director of Advancement

The Senior Director, Advancement, Pan-University Initiatives, is a key leadership position at Simon Fraser University. This role is responsible for leading the strategic development of the university's principal and major gift fundraising program, focusing on Pan-University Initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement strategic plans to secure and close integrated complex gifts to benefit the university.
- Lead the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major gift donors and prospects.
- Collaborate with university stakeholders to advance fundraising goals and priorities.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, alumni, and university leadership.
- Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and reports to track fundraising progress and performance.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Arts or Business Administration and eight years of related experience in developing strategic fundraising and cultivation strategies and leading dynamic, effective, and sustainable advancement programs.
- Excellent knowledge of development programs, including major gift, patron, individual direct response, legacy, corporate, foundation, and special events.
- Demonstrated success in closing gifts of $1 million or greater in a complex organizational environment.
- Excellent coaching, mentorship, and team-building skills.
