About the Role

The Registered Dietitian is a key member of our team at Wholesome Kids Catering, responsible for providing expert nutrition guidance and support to our customers, staff, and partners. This role requires a strong understanding of pediatric nutrition and the ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Education and Content Development:
    • Develop and deliver nutrition-focused articles, recipes, and workshops for our website, social media, and community events.
    • Provide expert quotes and answers to nutritional questions for our monthly newsletter and other content.
    • Collaborate with our Customer Care team to address nutritional inquiries from parents and customers.
    • Design and deliver interactive nutrition-focused workshops for children and nutrition learning sessions for centre administrators and parents.
  • Menu Development:
    • Participate in the Menu Steering and Development Team to provide menu and recipe ideas that meet the nutritional needs of growing children.
    • Work closely with our Production Manager, Chefs, and Allergy Administrator to assess nutritional value and implement guidelines.
    • Recommend menu applications based on Ontario Dietitians in Public Health menu planning guidelines and emerging nutritional research.
    • Collaborate with food vendors and suppliers to explore new menu additions and opportunities.
  • Nutritional Expertise:
    • Stay up-to-date with the latest nutritional science research and best practices related to nutrition in child care settings.
    • Provide nutrition education, consultation, and feasible solutions to centre directors, supervisors, and parents.
    • Participate in community and Trusted Partner events to represent Wholesome Kids Catering and share nutritional expertise.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or equivalent from an accredited university.
  • Completion of a Dietitians of Canada accredited Dietetic Internship, or equivalent.
  • Member in good standing of the College of Dietitians of Ontario.
  • 5 years' experience in dietitian services, preferably with a pediatric focus.
Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team; a self-starter.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, experience using ERP systems and/or nutritional analysis software an asset.
  • Possess initiative to develop systems, programs, and materials.
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
