Job Title: Menu Planning Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Menu Planning Specialist to join our team at Extendicare Canada Inc. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing national menu plans for our long-term care and retirement clients.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and distribute semiannual complete menu cycles, including week-at-a-glance menus, a la carte options, and therapeutic diet spreadsheets.
- Create seasonal menus that are both nutritious and cost-effective for our retirement and assisted living clients.
- Collaborate with our sales team and procurement manager to plan and execute menu planning days and other educational events.
- Work closely with our culinary procurement manager to develop menu critical paths and monitor progress.
- Participate in all aspects of food service, including nutritional evaluation, recipe development, and costing.
- Lead resident opinion surveys and facility feedback to inform ongoing menu planning and development.
- Manage data in our computerized menu system to analyze food costing, new product links, and diet extensions.

Requirements:

- A minimum of five years of operational experience in the seniors market, preferably in long-term care or retirement settings.
- An active member of the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management.
- A valid driver's license and post-secondary school studies in food and nutrition.
- Demonstrated business acumen, leadership success, and excellent organizational and communication skills.
