Job Title: Postal Clerk

At Canada Post, we're looking for a skilled and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Postal Clerk. As a key member of our retail team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, processing transactions, and maintaining a high level of postal products and services knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service to ensure complete customer satisfaction
  • Operate a computer point of sale system to process transactions
  • Maintain floor displays and conduct merchandizing and inventory control
  • Process financial transactions, including cash, cheques, debit, and credit card payments
  • Receive, sort, sequence, and batch mail items
  • Operate mail processing equipment, including clearing jams and removing mail from sorting machines
  • Transport mail between floors/sections using rolling or motorized equipment
  • Review mail items for address accuracy and proper postage
  • Work in a fast-paced environment, standing for up to 3.5 hours at a time, and exercising physical effort in handling mail items weighing up to 22.7 kilograms (50 lbs)

Qualifications:

  • Experience in customer service in a retail environment
  • Sales experience is an asset
  • Experience working in a production environment is an asset

This position may be considered a Safety Sensitive position and has additional requirements under Canada Post's Substance Use Policy.
