Job Title: Postal Clerk
Job Summary:
Canada Post is seeking a dynamic and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Postal Clerk. As a key member of our retail team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, processing mail and packages, and maintaining a high level of postal products and services knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent customer service to our customers, responding to their inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Process mail and packages, including sorting, sequencing, and batching.
- Maintain a high level of postal products and services knowledge, including rates, services, and promotions.
- Operate a computer point of sale system, processing transactions and managing cash, cheques, debit, and credit card payments.
- Conduct merchandizing and inventory control, ensuring that our retail areas are well-stocked and visually appealing.
- Transport mail between floors/sections using rolling or motorized equipment, as required.
- Review mail items for address accuracy, proper postage, and other relevant details.
- Exercise physical effort in the handling of mail items, including lifting, carrying, and bending.
Requirements:
- Experience in customer service in a retail environment.
- Sales experience is an asset.
- Experience working in a production environment is an asset.
Working Conditions:
This position may be considered a Safety Sensitive position and has additional requirements under Canada Post's Substance Use Policy.
