Job Title: Postal Clerk
Job Summary:
Canada Post is seeking a dynamic and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Postal Clerk. As a key member of our retail team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, processing mail and packages, and maintaining a high level of postal products and services knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent customer service to our customers, ensuring complete satisfaction with their mail and package needs.
- Operate a computer point of sale system to process transactions and manage inventory.
- Maintain floor displays and conduct merchandizing and inventory control to ensure a visually appealing and well-stocked retail environment.
- Process financial transactions, including cash, cheques, debit, and credit card payments.
- Receive, sort, sequence, and batch mail items, and operate mail processing equipment as required.
- Transport mail between floors/sections using rolling or motorized equipment, as needed.
- Review mail items for address accuracy, proper postage, and other key details.
- Work in a fast-paced environment, standing for up to 3.5 hours at a time, and exercising physical effort in the handling of mail items weighing up to 22.7 kilograms (50 lbs).
Requirements:
- Experience in customer service in a retail environment.
- Sales experience is an asset.
- Experience working in a production environment is an asset.
